2026 SI Outlook: Holding the note

Sustainable investing has been in a holding pattern amid subdued global sentiment and a flat overall trend in assets under management. This year we are publishing two outlooks: one on sustainable investing and the other on the macroeconomic landscape. In the SI outlook, we expect a focus in 2026 on shareholder rights and an expanded defense industry value chain, including infrastructure.

Another potential area of strength is thematic investing, particularly clean energy and the low-carbon transition, while the green bond market is maturing.

This year, we’re releasing two outlooks for 2026:

  • Investment Outlook, outlining three distinct scenarios for growth.

  • Sustainable Investing Outlook, forecasting a surge in climate transition investments.
