Robeco Dynamic Allocation is an actively managed global multi asset fund. The fund's objective is to achieve a better return than the index. The fund has a relatively high risk profile and uses asset allocation strategies mainly investing directly in equities and taking exposure to other asset classes such as bonds, deposits and money market instruments. The asset allocation strategy is subject to investments and volatility restrictions. Ernesto Sanichar is Portfolio Manager and member of the Sustainable Multi Asset team. He responsible for the Robeco Multi Asset funds, Robeco ONE and Defined contribution funds. His asset specialties are fixed income and FX. He has been part of Robeco's Investment Solutions department since 2005. Previously, he was Treasury Manager for four years. Prior to joining Robeco in 2001, Ernesto worked at ING Barings as a Product controller at the cash equities and derivatives desk for three years. Ernesto started his career in the investment industry in 1998. He holds a Master's in Financial Economics from Erasmus University Rotterdam. Mathieu van Roon is Portfolio Manager and member of the Sustainable Multi Asset team and is responsible for the Robeco Multi Asset funds, Robeco ONE and Defined contribution funds. He joined Robeco in 2011 within the Structured Investments department. Mathieu holds a Master’s in both Business Economics and Econometrics (cum Laude) from Erasmus University Rotterdam and is a Financial Risk Manager (FRM) charterholder.

Fiscal product treatment

The fund is established in Luxembourg and is subject to the Luxembourg tax laws and regulations. The fund is not liable to pay any corporation, income, dividend or capital gains tax in Luxembourg. The fund is subject to an annual subscription tax ('tax d'abonnement') in Luxembourg, which amounts to 0.05% of the net asset value of the fund. This tax is included in the net asset value of the fund. The fund can in principle use the Luxembourg treaty network to partially recover any withholding tax on its income.

Fiscal treatment of investor

The fiscal consequences of investing in this fund depend on the investor's personal situation. For private investors in the Netherlands real interest and dividend income or capital gains received on their investments are not relevant for tax purposes. Each year investors pay income tax on the value of their net assets as at 1 January if and inasmuch as such net assets exceed the investor’s tax-free allowance. Any amount invested in the fund forms part of the investor's net assets. Private investors who are resident outside the Netherlands will not be taxed in the Netherlands on their investments in the fund. However, such investors may be taxed in their country of residence on any income from an investment in this fund based on the applicable national fiscal laws. The second quarter was defined less by the conflict in the Middle East than by the speed with which markets absorbed the geopolitical shock. The closure of the Strait of Hormuz drove oil prices higher, lifted inflation expectations and pushed bond yields upwards. As the quarter progressed, investors increasingly viewed the disruption as a temporary supply shock rather than the start of a prolonged economic crisis. Higher inflation expectations prompted investors to reassess the outlook for monetary policy. The Federal Reserve and the ECB signaled they were less willing to ignore another energy-driven inflation shock, leading markets to rapidly price out further policy easing. Government bond yields rose across developed markets, particularly in Europe, while higher rate expectations supported the US dollar. Gold fell sharply, illustrating that monetary policy outweighed traditional safe-haven demand. Global equities recovered as fears of a prolonged energy shock faded and investors refocused on corporate earnings and AI. Leadership broadened beyond hyperscalers toward semiconductor manufacturers.

Based on transaction prices, the fund's return was 1.12%. The Sustainable Dynamic Allocation Fund advanced 1.1% over the month, bringing year-to-date performance broadly in line with its benchmark. Performance benefited from the risk-on market environment. The portfolio maintained overweight positions in both developed and emerging market equities. While emerging markets slightly lagged developed markets in absolute terms, strong security selection delivered a meaningful contribution. The contribution from tactical fixed income positions was modest but positive, driven primarily by an overweight in UK government bonds, which benefited from lower oil prices and declining inflation expectations. The core equity allocation benefited from factor tilts toward momentum and small-cap stocks, both of which performed strongly. At the stock level, Applied Materials and TSMC were among the largest contributors, benefiting from strong AI-related capital expenditure trends. Eli Lilly also contributed positively, while Healthcare holdings added to returns. Within fixed income, credit markets generated positive returns, supported by carry and beneficial allocations to Europe, subordinated debt and BB-rated bonds.

With markets increasingly looking beyond recent geopolitical tensions, attention has shifted back to the economic forces driving long-term returns. Growth, inflation and corporate earnings have moved to the forefront, while opportunities are becoming more differentiated across regions and asset classes. Lower oil prices should help ease inflationary pressures, particularly in economies reliant on imported energy. European assets are well positioned to benefit as the energy headwind fades, supporting household spending, corporate profitability and the outlook for bonds and equities. AI remains a key structural investment theme. Market leadership is broadening beyond hyperscalers to semiconductor manufacturers, memory producers and AI infrastructure providers. This supports our preference for emerging-market equities, where semiconductor companies account for a growing share of index earnings. Central banks are likely to remain cautious about cutting rates too quickly. A resilient US economy should support the US dollar, while persistent growth and inflation keep pressure on bond yields. We remain overweight in equities and continue to favor them over credit.
