About the internship

Robeco is seeking a full-time intern to join its Asia Fixed Income Credits team in Singapore for a 6-month period. This internship is centered on developing a technology-driven solution to streamline and enhance the credit research process. The objective is to design and prototype a tool that leverages techniques such as natural language processing (NLP), document parsing, and data analytics to systematically extract and analyse information from financial reports, company disclosures, and ESG materials. The resulting structured outputs will support credit analysts in making more efficient, consistent, and informed investment decisions.

Main areas of responsibilities

The intern will work closely with a designated member of the Asia Fixed Income Credits team to support the enhancement and partial automation of the credit research process. This includes combining domain knowledge in fixed income investing with data science and NLP techniques to improve how financial and qualitative information is extracted, structured, and analysed.

  • Collaborate with the investment team to map existing workflows related to credit memo drafting and issuer analysis.

  • Assist in developing a technology-driven tool that leverages document analysis and natural language processing (NLP) to extract relevant information from financial reports, ESG disclosures, and investor presentations.

  • Work with structured and unstructured datasets to generate inputs for credit assessment, issuer comparisons, and sector-level analysis.

  • Support bottom-up credit evaluation by identifying and testing ways to streamline the interpretation of financial metrics, capital structure, and risk factors.

  • Monitor macroeconomic and regulatory developments across Asian and emerging markets to inform model outputs and enhance relevance.

  • Contribute to investment team discussions by surfacing insights from the tool’s outputs, and assist in preparing materials for internal credit reviews and investment committees.
