Sustainability Networks

As part of our commitment to making financial markets more sustainable, Robeco works together with a diverse range of institutions such as the PRI, IIGCC, and Climate Action 100+. Our active contribution to these important global platforms for collaborative action on sustainability issues enables us to help shape the global investment agenda. A full list of applicable memberships can be downloaded here. Some of our key memberships are outlined below:

The Principles for Responsible Investment

The Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) were developed by an international group of institutional investors in response to the increasing relevance of environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues to investment practices. As a signatory of the PRI, Robeco is part of a global network of peer investors exploring and acting on ESG issues. We publicly commit to adopting and implementing the Principles in the best long-term interests of our beneficiaries. We also commit to evaluating the effectiveness of the Principles and improving their content over time. In this way we can contribute to a more long-term oriented, transparent, sustainable, and well-governed investment market and business activity.

CA100+

Climate Action 100+ is an investor initiative to ensure the world’s largest corporate greenhouse gas emitters take necessary action on climate change. The companies include 100 ‘systemically important emitters’, accounting for two-thirds of annual global industrial emissions, alongside more than 60 others with significant opportunity to drive the clean energy transition.

IIGCC

The Institutional Investors Group on Climate Change (IIGCC) is the European membership body for investor collaboration on climate change and the voice of investors taking action for a prosperous, low carbon future. IIGCC has more than 250 members, mainly pension funds and asset managers, across 15 countries, with over €33 trillion in assets under management.

Platform Carbon Accounting Financials (PCAF)

PCAF is a global partnership of financial institutions that work together to develop and implement a harmonized approach to assess and disclose the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions associated with their loans and investments. The harmonized accounting approach provides financial institutions with the starting point required to set science-based targets and align their portfolio with the Paris Climate Agreement. PCAF enables transparency and accountability and will develop an open-source global carbon accounting standard for financial institutions.

International Corporate Governance network (ICGN)

The International Corporate Governance Network's aim is to promote effective standards of corporate governance and investor stewardship to advance efficient markets and sustainable economies worldwide.

Sustainability Commitments & Statements

Robeco recognizes that the regulatory environment of the countries in which our clients invest is a crucial factor for companies to be able to support their sustainability commitments. Government agencies or other public institutions therefore play a defining role in setting the sustainability agenda both within individual markets, and globally. Robeco regularly takes part in public consultations and provides feedback to regulators and other public institutions where relevant.
