Our research shows that companies that are negatively aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) underperform the broader universe of credits, while those that have a positive or neutral alignment with the SDGs outperform. Robeco has developed and implemented a framework for screening companies according to their contribution to the SDGs. The track record since inception of our SDG Global Credit strategy shows that selecting credits based on their alignment with the SDGs contributes positively to performance, in addition to the performance contribution from credit selection and portfolio beta. This finding is consistent with the Robeco philosophy of creating both wealth and well-being through our investment processes.
