RobecoSAM Net Zero 2050 Climate Equities is an actively managed fund that invests in stocks in developed countries across the world, with the sustainable investment objective of decarbonization towards Net Zero. The selection of these stocks is based on fundamental analysis. The fund also aims to achieve a better return than the index. The fund has sustainable investment as its objective within the meaning of Article 9 of the European Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation. The fund contributes to keeping the maximum global temperature rise well-below 2°C by reducing the carbon footprint of the portfolio in line with the MSCI World Climate Change Index. The foregoing is implemented by essentially actively investing in companies that contribute to achieve Net Zero goals by 2050 The fund integrates ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) factors in the investment process and applies Robeco’s Good Governance policy. The fund applies sustainability indicators, including but not limited to, normative, and activity-based exclusions in line with Article 12 of the EU regulation on Climate Transition Benchmarks, and proxy voting. The fund is managed against a Benchmark that is consistent with the sustainable investment objectives pursued by the fund. It aims to align with the Climate Transition requirements on greenhouse gas emission reduction. The majority of stocks selected will be components of the Benchmark, but stocks outside the Benchmark may be selected too. The fund can deviate from the weightings of the Benchmark. The fund aims to outperform the Benchmark over the long run, whilst still controlling relative risk through the applications of limits (on countries, currencies and sectors) to the extent of deviation from the Benchmark. This will consequently limit the deviation of the performance relative to the Benchmark.
Risk management is fully embedded in the investment process to ensure that positions always meet predefined guidelines

Sustainability profile
Sustainability
The fund’s sustainable investment objective is to contribute to keeping global temperature rise well-below 2°C by reducing the carbon footprint of the fund. Climate change and sustainability considerations are incorporated in the investment process via exclusions, ESG integration, as well as voting. Firstly, the fund does not invest in stock issuers that are in breach of international norms or where activities have been deemed detrimental to society following Robeco's exclusion policy. This includes activity-based exclusions of Article 12 of the EU regulation on Climate Transition Benchmarks, EU Paris-aligned Benchmarks and sustainability-related disclosures for benchmarks as applicable. Secondly, the fund focuses on investing in companies that have set Net Zero goals by 2050 and examines other financially material ESG factors in the portfolio construction. Thirdly, by restricting the GHG emissions, the carbon footprint of the fund is made lower than that of the Climate transition benchmark to ensure alignment with the desired decarbonization trajectory of 7% year on year. Further, where a stock issuer is flagged for breaching international standards in the ongoing monitoring, the issuer will become subject to exclusion. Lastly, the fund makes use of shareholder rights and applies proxy voting in accordance with Robeco's proxy voting policy.
Expectation of fund manager

All the macro talk keeps centering around interest rates. Noteworthy, however, is the lack of interest on the geopolitical front. Whether it's the surprise OPEC decision to significantly cut oil production at a point where most are still struggling with an inflation problem, China's mingling in the Russia/Ukraine conflict, a perhaps seminal change in the relationship between Iran and Saudi Arabia, or huge social unrest in France on pension reforms. All went by relatively unnoticed, but are important macro events to consider. So as we have argued before, it's probably best to brace for a volatile next few months, with equity markets staying somewhat in 'limbo'. Within our investable climate universe, we clearly need to watch secondary and third order effects of tighter lending conditions and a weakening industrial and consumer demand backdrop. Against this background, our climate transition strategy might struggle from a returns point of view in the near term. However, the broadly diversified toolbox of climate solutions we invest in, in combination with the strong secular underpinnings of the climate theme itself, should provide ample opportunities over the long run.

Annualized yield is calculated with the following formula: Sum of the monthly dividends over a period of 12 months / average of the applicable prices of the first business day of these 12 months * 100%
Where a reference is made to the frequency of dividend distributions, this frequency is an aim and not a guarantee. The fund may at its discretion pay dividend out from capital. Dividend yield is not guaranteed, and is not indicative the return of the Fund. The yield figure is for reference only. The fund may at its discretion to pay dividend out from capital. Distributions out of capital may result in the reduction of an investor’s original capital invested in the Sub-fund or from any capital gains attributable to that original investment of the Sub-fund. Also, any distributions involving the capital and/or capital gains may result in an immediate reduction of the net asset value per share of the relevant class. Payment of dividends out of capital amounts to a return or withdrawal of part of an investor’s original investment or from any capital gains attributable to that original investment. If there is a change of distribution policy of the Sub-fund, the Management Company will seek the prior approval of the Securities and Futures Commission in Hong Kong ('SFC') and provide at least one month’s prior notice to affected Shareholders.
