The Robeco Global Investment Traineeship Program offers top university students a unique two-year opportunity to work with the investment professionals at a leading global asset management firm. During this period, you will gain experience and contribute to the success of Robeco’s Equity, Fixed Income and Sustainable Investing teams. In addition, you will have regular interaction with colleagues from other disciplines, including Sales, Marketing, Reporting and Performance Measurement, to get a solid understanding of the dynamics of an asset management firm. The program includes the opportunity to work at a number of Robeco’s international locations. You will have access to internal and external training, including personal development and content-driven courses.

About the program
The two-year program starts in November 2022. You will be based at Robeco’s headquarters in Rotterdam for most of this time. You and your co-trainees will rotate between various investment teams for periods of up to six months. During these rotations you will be working alongside experienced analysts and portfolio managers on investment cases and projects. To gain a full understanding of the dynamics of various financial markets, you will be assigned to Equity as well as Fixed Income and Sustainable Investment teams. -
Your role
At Robeco we are committed to fundamental research and sustainability integration within our Equity and Fixed Income investment teams. As a member of these teams you will both apply & develop your existing skills to provide analysis on investment opportunities and industries in what is an often rapidly evolving marketplace.
Fundamental Equity Investing is where it all started for Robeco and is possibly the purest form of investing: people trying to find the most attractive companies to invest in. We base our investment decisions on in-depth fundamental research into businesses, sectors, macro-economics, and trends.
Sustainable Investing is one of the core pillars of Robeco’s investment approach. We deliver real-world changes by engaging with companies to encourage them to improve their ESG performance and drive research into key areas such as climate change, biodiversity, and the UN SDGs.
Fixed Income Investing is where complexity meets creativity. In-depth research and contrarian thinking is key for managing risk and identifying opportunities. The fixed income team invests in company-issued debt across a wide variety of sectors, countries, and ratings.
Data Science makes the investment world go round. The data science team uncovers insights from large amounts of data and enables investment professionals to make better decisions. Examples include finding smarter execution strategies by analyzing all our trade data, making sense of the latest available data on sustainability, uncovering behavioural biases in our own investment processes and building tools to share such insights.
During the first year, you will spend four months in our Zurich office where you will work with our Sustainable Investing specialists. In the second year, you will spend two months in one of our international offices, in London, Hong Kong or Singapore.
We offer a range of courses during the program to help you develop your personal skills, such as presentation, negotiation and debating. You will receive Bloomberg-user training, and will be equipped to do valuations and programming courses in Python. Trainees enroll in the CFA program in the second year of the program.

Requirements
We are looking for recent graduates or students who will graduate in 2022 who meet the following requirements:
- Top of their class, with an affinity for financial markets and sustainability
- Possess great analytical skills, have perseverance and are curious by nature
- Capable of communicating effectively, embracing changes and overcoming challenges
- Open minded, ability to bring up innovative and divergent ideas while displaying openness, teamwork and integrity
- Digital savviness is a defining criterion
- You must also be fluent in English

The application phase ends June 30th. In July you will be informed if you are selected for the first round of on-line interviews. Final selection will be made after a second round of interviews in August.
