Earlier this month, global equity markets decided to stage a proper meltdown. The key question is, will this continue? Will US Equities enter a bear market and drag other equity markets even further lower with them? I don’t have a crystal ball, but I suspect the answer is no.
Let’s not forget that the Market Watcher Supreme is President Trump himself. He holds the keys to the trade disputes and any continuation of a meltdown could be followed by pledges for more stimulus or maybe, just maybe, a more conciliatory tone versus China. This, of course, together with some not-so-subtle Jay Powell-blasting.
