Transportation is one of the world’s largest and most dynamic markets; and it’s changing fast as it is reshaped by electrification and vehicle intelligence. Vehicles are moving from a reliance on combustion to becoming electrically powered, software defined and increasingly intelligent. Smart Mobility captures this momentous shift – investing in the technologies that are redefining transport from the ground up.

Why invest in smart mobility?

Electrification is transforming automotive architecture, lowering operating costs, reducing emissions, and making mobility cleaner and more efficient. At the same time, autonomous driving is emerging as one of the most compelling real-world applications of physical AI, where machines learn to perceive and act in complex physical environments. Importantly, the cost of the technologies enabling autonomy – sensors, computing power and software – continues to decline.

This is not just about convenience. It is also about safety – with the potential to materially reduce accidents. Meanwhile, vehicles are turning into digital platforms, seamlessly connected to smartphones and cloud services. Moreover, shared mobility is expanding choice and flexibility while software is extending vehicle lifecycles and unlocking new passenger experiences.

Together, these forces are turning mobility into a technology driven ecosystem – and Smart Mobility offers a compelling way to invest in that future.

More about strategy

The Smart Mobility strategy sits at the intersection of this automotive revolution, investing in not just global EV manufacturers but also suppliers of essential components. Those include producers of lithium for EV batteries, and other lightweight materials needed for vehicle frames and equipment housing. It also includes makers of batteries and power management devices that store, control and distribute energy to the vehicles’ powertrain and other electronic systems.

Cars are increasingly becoming ‘computers on wheels’, which is why the strategy invests in the suppliers of semiconductors and software that are critical for vehicles' operational systems such as advanced driver assistance and autonomous driving. Investments also extend to smart grid technologies and charging station infrastructure.
Moreover, opportunities are also springing from companies outside the traditional automotive sector which are providing mobility-as-a-service through robotaxis and car-sharing platforms.

In short, the strategy invests in those companies that supply the critical ingredients to create, maintain, and power intelligent, next-generation vehicle fleets.

Put your portfolio on the fast track to innovation-led growth in mobility and transport.
