Learning curve: the 2026 update of the Essentials of Sustainable Investing

Robeco has updated its educational training module, the Essentials of Sustainable Investing, with the latest developments in the rich history of SI. Originally a protest against the slave trade and now a multi-trillion dollar asset management industry, the whole spectrum of SI has evolved since the first edition in 2018 and the last update in 2021, necessitating a further revision.

    Head of Sustainability Integration

The main changes are:

  1. Two new chapters more comprehensively covering ESG integration, double materiality and the SI spectrum, from responsible to impact investing.
  2. A new chapter dedicated to the transition to a lower-carbon world, including, the politics now shaping net zero, and Robeco’s Climate Traffic Light approach.
  3. Eleven new case studies showing how ESG integration, corporate and sovereign engagement, voting and SDG investing works in the real world.

The module culminates with an updated test that readers can take for up to two hours of professional CPD, accredited by the major training institutes, including the CFA.
