The Robeco Foundation’s mission is to help create equal opportunities for disadvantaged children by investing in talent development through education.
The Robeco Foundation will contribute to projects at primary and secondary schools that aim to help children reach their full potential. Efforts will focus on cities where Robeco has a presence in order to strengthen the bond with the local community. It will begin with a program in Rotterdam, where Robeco has its head office, with the ambition to expand into other cities in 2019. The Foundation aims to achieve its mission through both financial contributions combined with the voluntary efforts of Robeco employees on the ground.
Robeco is committed to contributing to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and is a signatory to the Dutch SDG Investing Agenda.
Robeco has a longstanding tradition of supporting sustainable growth via our activities in the fields of investment, engagement and active ownership. The Foundation was established as a means of matching this business focus of contributing to the SDGs with social commitment activities. To achieve this goal, the Foundation will actively invest in local educational programs aimed at supporting financially disadvantaged children around the world.
The 17 SDGs aim to make the world a better place by their target end-date of 2030, focusing on initiatives that range from reducing hunger and ill-health, to promoting equal opportunities for women and children. We believe that the SDGs are drivers for positive change around the globe; their principles are incorporated in much of the integrated sustainable investing work practiced within Robeco.
The Robeco Foundation wants to contribute to three of the SDGs in particular:
