The SI Thought Leadership team works on research projects that shed new light on sustainability investing. Research topics that are central to our work include how ESG integration strengthens the value added (risk/returns) proposition we offer our clients, and which subparts (E, S, G) generate most value; how sustainable investing is generating real-world impact and helps advance the Sustainable Development Goals; and how investors can integrate the implications of major challenges like climate change and biodiversity loss into their investment processes. Tackling such research questions informs our investment strategies and strengthens our position as a sustainable asset manager to our clients. There is a potential to write your thesis on one of the research topics of our group.
The SI Thought Leadership team are looking for current master students that have a strong analytical background – such as Finance or (Business) Economics - combined with a demonstrated interest in sustainability. The projects we work on deliver new insights in the sustainable investing space. As the projects are relevant for the entire organization, they’ll give you an opportunity to interact with, and learn from, colleagues across Robeco’s teams. A successful candidate will therefore enjoy doing research, liaising with multiple stakeholders, and translating the findings into actionable products (e.g. reports, tools, presentations). Skills in research methods, social engagement, data analytics, creativity and inquisitiveness - all centered around sustainability - are what we are looking for.
