Department

The Central Purchasing Department provides added value to all Robeco's internal clients with regard to purchasing, vendor management, hiring and leasing of products and services. The department is responsible for implementing professional buying processes, with a focus on achieving the best result for its internal clients. The best result is always a combination of maximum value, minimum risk and competitive costs.

Job description

As a Vendor Manager of Financial Market Data you will:

  • Negotiate, validate and manage market data contracts including budget process
  • Engage and work closely with the business on sourcing and data acquisition opportunities, data and functionality requirements, projects & priorities.
  • Proactively manage vendors through the contract lifecycle by monitoring their fulfillment of obligations and services and by performing benchmarking through scorecards, performance metrics and other tools.
  • Provide transparent reporting including user cost analysis meetings with main business groups and variable costing controls
  • Challenge value and costs, promote alternative solutions and maintain quality
  • Implement contract compliance (companywide) with focus on alignment licensing versus data requirements
  • Track and communicate industry trends and market intelligence
  • Build co-operation for beyond Rotterdam global market data to allow lower costs via efficiency, transparency, legal & audit risk aversion
  • Identify, qualify and manage opportunities for vendors to deliver innovation that impacts internal business performance

Requirements

The candidate we're looking for to fulfil this position has the following qualities and skills:

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in market data licensing and/or vendor management
  • Experience in working for or with market data vendors is highly desired
  • Solid experience with purchasing, negotiations and contract management
  • Knowledge of market data management systems (INFOmatch or other) is a plus
  • Financial industry knowledge, understanding of asset classes, application of both real time and reference market data
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills both in Dutch and English
  • Demonstrated ability to develop highly functioning business relationships
  • Proven project management skills including the ability to drive projects to completion
  • Must be organized, detail oriented, responsive and be able to adapt quickly to a rapidly changing environment
  • Interpret contractual obligations and compliance requirements
  • Strong business analytical skills
  • FIA certification is a plus (The Financial Industry Association market data exam)
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills is a plus
