Monitoring & Control

The Continuity & Stability department (C&S) is responsible for ensuring stability, security, business continuity and reliability of Robeco’s data processing and IT environment. Within C&S, the Monitoring & Control team (M&C) is responsible for managing and monitoring the IT operating environment. This includes Robeco’s application landscape, data processing and IT infrastructure. For this environment, Robeco makes use of different types of outsourcing, including external data centers and several SaaS and PaaS solutions.

M&C monitors and manages 24/7 Robeco’s critical data (batch) processes and availability of the IT infrastructure. The team manages the ITIL service processes as agreed with the critical IT-providers. M&C is an important point of contact for communication about disruptions, critical incidents and unavailability of IT systems. They coordinate incident solving and disruption handling and overlook that structural solutions are realized by stakeholders.

Job responsibilities

As an IT service coordinator you contribute in creating a continuous and stable IT infrastructure by monitoring all requests, incidents and other events and manage this for further follow-up to the right people of teams with the right priority. Based on your extensive view on the IT infrastructure and the dependencies, you could assess the impact of an request, incident or event and act upon it. The IT service control coordinator works closely together with all other team members, IT development teams, change management, suppliers and business representatives in order to ensure the most appropriate level of service. The key activities and responsibilities of the IT service Coordinator are:

  • Monitor and manage all requests, incidents and other events and inform stakeholder pro-actively on status and progress;
  • Prioritize the outstanding and incoming requests continuously to ensure that team members are working at the requests with the highest priority and intervene if needed;
  • Be the spokesperson to and for stakeholders who have questions about progress on incidents and requests;
  • Keeps and manage the progress on outstanding incidents or requests and pro-actively challenge the practitioner and involved parties on status and solvation of the request / incident;
  • Coordinate availability of M&C team members (including standby) and
  • Be the M&C scrum master on a daily basis.  


You are a highly motivated professional who is eager to grow, learn, and gain new skills. You are a flexible team player with problem-solving capabilities who is comfortable in working under tight deadlines in an hectic environment. You have a relevant education at Bachelor+ working and thinking level, or comparable, has excellent communication skills and have a strong personality. The candidate should be able to function autonomically as well as in the team. Knowledge of managing an operational IT environment is a must, knowledge of the asset management industry is a benefit. 

You also have the following skills, knowledge or experience:

  • Fluent in Dutch and English (both spoken and written);
  • Keeps priorities straight and can make adjustments easily if required;
  • Problem solving skills, insight and vision when it comes to decision making and providing direction;
  • Ability to communicate effectively, constructively and professionally; 
  • Has eye for detail, but could also retain overview and consistency;
  • Process driven with a pragmatic style; is able to find the (correct) balance between rules and practicality, without loss of quality and compliance;
  • Identifies and initiate improvements on processes and tooling (automation) and collaborates in improving operational activities; 
  • Strong personality and has good leadership skills; 
  • Strong analytical skills, pragmatic and quality driven;
  • Experience in the asset management sector and Agile / DevOps / CDCI development are benefits;
  • Experience in ITIL, Audit, Compliance (SOX, ISAE), Agile, Scrum and Lean.
