Job description

In the current political climate, the trend is to work longer. This means that your retirement age will start when you are 67; future generations may need to work even longer. At the same time, the bar is constantly being raised by increasing complexity due to digitalization, technology and globalization.
Besides that, there is an aging workforce on the labor market that needs to deploy extra energy, compared to younger employees, to keep up with these developments. What does this mean for their working capacity? Because of good working conditions, older employees are also less likely to change employer. How do you keep this aging workforce deployable in the long term? How do you ensure that they continue to develop, go along with the changing circumstances and continue to make a valued contribution to the organization in the future? How do you ensure that they adopt new ways of working instead of rejecting them, staying vital and maintaining their employability even though they have been doing the same job for years?

In order to contribute to the vision on sustainable aging policy, Robeco is looking for an trainee who wants to investigate this by means of empirical literature research and interviews with those directly involved. The trainee is challenged to address the case from multiple perspectives, such as conditions of employment, politics, employer, managers and employees themselves.
You will be supported and coached by a Robeco HR business partner during your internship.

The candidate is an academic student behavioral sciences or human resources and is fluent in Dutch and English.
