There are four teams in the Human Resources department of Robeco. These are the HR Servicedesk, HR Compensation & Benefits, HR Learning & Development and HR Advisory. The HR Advisory team is responsible for ensuring that efficient and high quality HR processes and programs are well embedded throughout the company.
HR Advisory is also the face of HR for Robeco's management and in that sense also the contact point on broader human-resource issues. HR Advisory coaches, challenges and advises management up to the most senior level on all personnel management issues and fulfils a ‘coaching the coach’ role. HR Advisory also offers advice and guidance on organizational changes and collaboration issues within the company, adopting the role of change expert.
As HR Business Partner you act as a sparring partner and management coach for strategic and tactical issues relating to personnel and the organization. In doing this, you challenge the management on how they promote the core values of the organization and consistently implement the HR policy. You are the contact person and catalyst for performance management related matters, structural questions relating to dynamics in the workforce and talent management.
The HR Business partner is an important link between the business itself and the HR organization. This means that you act as a driving force – signaling new developments and needs that are relevant to the business and advising on how these can best be handled so that policy can be adjusted if necessary. You also use your extensive and up-to-date knowledge of the HR world and market developments to help further develop the HR policy.
As HR Business Partner you are multifaceted: you can advise, coach, monitor/check, act as a catalyst, push, support, confront and brain storm with management until they demonstrably take responsibility for change and promote this at management level to the employees. Strengthening executive power is an important focus point. You can think in structures, processes and systems, but primarily in terms of the effectiveness of strong guidance. You are inspiring, influential and pro-active. You are able to look at issues from new angles and apply your experience. You can offer those in management comfort/support, but also – where necessary – tempt them out of their comfort zone. You can think and act from both a development and a conceptual angle. Cooperation is vital. You can operate at various levels within an organization to achieve organizational objectives while ensuring that the focus remains on the people involved. HR Advisory is a result-responsible team and reports to the Head of Group Human Resources.
