Sustainable Investing Expertise by RobecoSAM

Impact investing

Our Impact Investing offering combines seasoned experience in Sustainable Investing with unparalleled SI research and analysis. We are convinced that financial markets have the power to promote sustainable business practices and address global social and environmental concerns that jeopardize a prosperous future. It is this conviction that guides our efforts to mobilize capital towards creating positive impact.

The world is facing serious challenges

    • 2 billion people lack access to basic sanitation
    • 2 billion people have no access to vital medicine, yet global healthcare spending is around USD 8 trillion annually
    • CO2 emissions from fossil fuels and heavy industry continue unabated, intensifying the climate emergency
    • Outdoor air pollution will be responsible for 6-9 million premature deaths and cost USD 2.6 trillion annually by 2060
    • On average, women earn 47% less than men
    • Global waste production will be nearly twice that of population growth by 2050
Sources: WHO, WEF, The World Bank, OECD, United Nations, Access to Medicine Index
  • Shape the future with Impact Investing

To address these challenges, the global community has launched the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The SDGs are a set of 17 universal goals designed to proactively address obstacles like resource inefficiencies, environmental injuries, social inequalities and consumption imbalances that obstruct the pathway to a sustainable and prosperous future for all. The SDGs are a universally recognized tool to help governments, and business and investors prioritize and measure their positive impact on environment and society.

Robeco is staunchly committed to achieving these goals by mobilizing capital to companies that share this commitment. The aim of our Impact Investing strategies is to create a powerful portfolio of companies contributing to SDG impact that also generate positive returns for investors.

A broad range of strategies

All of the RobecoSAM impact investing strategies are designed to make a measurable environmental or societal impact.
