Summer Internship

Which teams are hiring summer interns?

Summer interns are recruited for the Fundamental Equity, Fixed Income, Quant Research, Sustainable Investing, Data Science, Client Portfolio Management and Trading departments. During the application process you can indicate a preference for one or more departments. If invited for interviews, you will be interviewed by people working in the corresponding department(s).

Fundamental Equity Investing is where it all started for Robeco and arguably the purest form of investing. Join to contribute to investment decisions based on in-depth fundamental research into businesses, sectors, macroeconomics, and trends. We offer opportunities across the Global Stars, Emerging Market Equities, and Trends Investing teams.

Fixed Income Investing is where complexity meets creativity. Join to contribute to identifying investment opportunities based on in-depth research and contrarian thinking. The fixed income team invests in government and company-issued debt across a wide variety of sectors, countries, and ratings. We offer opportunities across Global Macro and Credit Research.

Multi Asset Investing is at the intersection of various asset classes. Join to contribute to delivering superior, research-driven, sustainable strategies and designing innovative solutions that fit clients’ needs. The team manages assets across multi-asset funds, discretionary multi-asset solutions, and customized liability and buy-and-maintain fixed income solutions.

Quantitative Research is in Robeco’s DNA. Join to contribute to investment decisions by uncovering hidden relationships in the data using state-of-the-art techniques. We offer opportunities across Quant Equity, Quant Fixed Income, and Sustainable Index Solutions.

Sustainable Investing is one of the core pillars of Robeco’s investment approach. Join this team to deliver real-world changes via engaging with companies to encourage them to improve their ESG performance and drive research into key areas such as climate change, biodiversity, and the UN SDGs. We offer opportunities across Sustainability Engagement and Sustainability Investing Research.

Data Science & Trading make the investment world go round. Join this team to contribute by finding smarter execution strategies via trade data analysis, making sense of the latest available data on sustainability, uncovering behavioral biases in investment processes, building tools to share such insights, and supporting traders. Client Portfolio Management is a linking pin between Investments and Sales. Join this team to contribute to servicing Robeco’s clients by creating and improving marketing materials such as presentations for sharing insights about Robeco products and assisting with client requests & questions. Summer Intern 2022 – Fixed Income

My summer internship at Robeco was an insightful experience and a great opportunity to meet many experts in the field of asset management. Whether it was within my team itself or with people from other departments, there was a general willingness to share knowledge that made life as an intern a continuous flow of learning. My main project was to conduct an industry and company report, concluded by a credit committee where I presented my findings to portfolio managers. My supervisor was trustful and gave me a lot of freedom on how to conduct my research which I really enjoyed. Besides that, the summer intern programme is also very fun, and the group dynamic was particularly enjoyable.

Summer Intern 2022 - Active Ownership

The summer internship at Robeco was a valuable experience, professionally and personally. During my time in the Active Ownership team, I had the chance to understand how Robeco can push companies to pursue more sustainable actions. Guided by experts in the field, I learned about the challenges and opportunities for each engagement case. My research contributed to different engagement cases, which showed me how my work would be helpful to Robeco even after my internship. During the internship, there was a great focus on stepping outside of my comfort zone. Weekly meetings with my mentor and workshops held by professionals helped me set goals for my future career and extended my skillset. One of my favorite parts of the internship was meeting brilliant and interesting colleagues, coming from diverse backgrounds.

Summer Intern 2022 – Sustainable Investing

My experience at Robeco has been an enriching and exiting journey from the very beginning. Every day I had the opportunity to interact with professionals from all departments, gaining meaningful insights on the asset management world as a whole. I have been held accountable for a project specifically designed for my role by the Client Portfolio Management team, which supported me with continuous and constructive feedbacks. At the end of the summer internship, I presented the results and recommendations of my analysis on Active Ownership practices in the asset management industry. I have learnt how to analytically structure a comprehensive competitor analysis, but most of all this experience taught me how to work in a dynamic and stimulating environment with talents from all over the world.
