Accountability
In a company the board is responsible and accountable for:
- A clearly defined corporate strategy, sustained by solid financial and effective risk policies and systems.
- Efficient communication and execution of this strategy.
- Performance objectives that are established and monitored in accordance with the strategy.
- Selecting, monitoring and remunerating key executives in a way that reflects the best interests of the company in terms of business continuity and quality of management and therefore also the best interests of the shareholders and other stakeholders.
- Frequently monitoring and reviewing the corporate governance systems of the company and taking appropriate action to comply with best practices.
