How are Robeco funds classified?
Robeco asked an independent institute – Sustainalytics – to classify its investment funds to enable it to show the extent to which its investments are responsible.
What are the elements concerned?
Sustainalytics has examined a large number of Robeco funds in the light of four elements of responsible investing:
- Integration of ESG factors;
- Active ownership;
- Sustainability;
- Exclusion policy.
Sustainalytics subdivided the results of their examination of the above elements of responsible investing into three categories: basic, intermediate and advanced. The extensive results per fund can be found by using the Product Selector.
Example
For the element exclusion policy this results in the following subdivision:
- No exclusion policy is applicable to this fund (or, not applicable).
- Basic: this fund does not invest in companies that produce, transport and/or sell controversial weapons; neither does it invest in controversial regimes.
- Intermediate: this fund does not invest in companies that produce, transport and/or sell controversial weapons; neither does it invest in controversial regimes. In addition, the fund applies a minimum of three exclusion criteria.
- Advanced: this fund does not invest in companies that produce, transport and/or sell controversial weapons; neither does it invest in controversial regimes. In addition, the fund applies a minimum of three exclusion criteria, including the labor rights and human rights violation criterion.
