Paul Heathwood, Director of Sales & Marketing
What makes your job fun?
The fun part of my job is the challenges presented of being part of an international organization that is working to bring itself together to better serve clients. In my role, sales and client service, this means prioritizing the investment strengths of our U.S. based business and delivering these strengths to our colleagues at Robeco in Europe. This also means repeating the process of delivering our European-based investment capabilities to U.S. investors. The different time zones, language, and cultures pose an interesting challenge which is fun. Traveling to new places and meeting people from other countries is certainly not bad either.
Why did you choose Robeco and what makes Robeco ambitious?
Actually, Robeco chose me. I became part of the Robeco family when my predecessor firm, Boston Partners, was acquired by Robeco in 2002. It has been a great six years. Why I continue to choose Robeco is the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the firm. While Robeco is a big company, the U.S. operation is medium in size. Our size, combined with strong U.S. and European investment capabilities, means that the individual can really make an impact on their group and the entire organization. After all, we are the portal for Robeco to the largest market for asset management services in the world. Robeco's desire to become a robust international organization makes it ambitious.
Why should one choose Robeco as employer?
From its beginning in 1929, Robeco has been committed to its investors and its employees. George Möller, our former CEO, referred to our new logo as one ‘that radiates a professionalism that will enable us to present ourselves in a powerful manner worldwide’. In effect, we are ‘building a more robust Robeco’. ‘More robust’ means that we are moving more aggressively to expand our business and our reach. Expansion means new opportunities for new and existing employees. Add to this our firm's historical commitment to corporate social responsibility and sustainability, and Rabobank's highest Sustainability Cluster Score within the banking sectors. Who would not want to be employed by a growing company with such a respectable social conscience?
